Pornography is a powerful vice that is readily available in print, on the Internet, and even on mobile phones. Chronic abuse of pornography is not usually overcome by simply “pulling the plug.” Sustained recovery often requires professional education about environmental cues and mood states that place men and women at risk for sexual addiction. Sober living also involves family participation to improve communication and relationships, and to learn vital relapse prevention skills.
